Robot Structural Analysis Professional: FE analysis with UK and Eurocode design

Autodesk Robot Structural Analysis Professional (usually just “Robot”) is the analysis package UK structural engineers use for frames, slabs, shells and full building models where a spreadsheet or simple frame program is no longer enough. It runs linear and non-linear static, modal, seismic and time-history analysis, then designs steel and reinforced-concrete members to Eurocodes with UK National Annexes and legacy British Standards.

Because Robot links bidirectionally with Revit, the analytical model can come straight from the BIM model and results can flow back — one reason it is included in the AEC Collection. AutoSoftKey supplies Robot as a 3-year licence for Windows.

What Robot does

  • Modelling: bars, plates, shells and solids with automatic meshing, releases, supports and load-case combinations.
  • Analysis: linear, P-delta, buckling, modal, harmonic, seismic (EC8) and time-history analysis with a multi-threaded solver.
  • Design: steel member and connection design to EC3, RC beams, columns, slabs and foundations to EC2, plus timber and aluminium codes.
  • Reporting: customisable calculation notes and diagrams for checking engineers and building control.
  • Interoperability: Revit Structure link, Advance Steel, IFC, SDNF, DXF and an open API for automation.

Who buys Robot

Structural engineering consultancies, independent chartered engineers and contractors’ temporary-works teams. Engineers who also detail in Advance Steel or model in Revit usually take the AEC Collection, which includes all three.

Choosing your release year

Robot is Windows-only. Choose a release year from 2024 to 2027 and match it to your Revit release if you use the Revit link.
