Autodesk Advance Steel is the detailing application UK steel fabricators, structural detailers and engineering consultancies use to model connections, generate general-arrangement and shop drawings, and export NC/DSTV files straight to the workshop. Because it runs on the AutoCAD platform, drafters keep the DWG workflow they know while the steel model handles the intelligence.

Advance Steel 2026/2027 requires 64-bit Windows 10 or 11, a multi-core processor, 16 GB of RAM (Autodesk recommends more for large models), a DirectX 12 graphics card with 4 GB or more and around 15 GB of disk space.
