Kaspersky Plus: protection with the practical extras

Kaspersky Plus is the tier most people land on, and the successor to Kaspersky Internet Security and Total Security. It keeps the same protection engine as Standard against malware, ransomware and phishing, and adds the two extras that get used most in practice: an unlimited VPN for public Wi-Fi and a password manager for the credentials you cannot keep in your head, plus a data-leak checker and online payment protection.

What Plus covers

Against Standard you gain the privacy tools; against Premium you give up identity protection and priority support. If a VPN and password vault are the reason you are upgrading, Plus is usually the sensible stopping point.

Choosing devices and term

Choose 1, 3 or 5 devices and a 1 or 2 year term. Mixed households run out of device slots faster than expected once phones and tablets are counted, so add them up before you choose. The 5-device, 2-year option is the most economical per device.

Compatibility and system requirements

Kaspersky Plus supports current versions of Windows, macOS, Android and iOS. The VPN and password manager are available on all four; some elements differ by platform and country. Check Kaspersky’s system requirements before ordering.

Kaspersky remains available and supported in the UK. The 2024 restrictions on Kaspersky sales apply in the United States; they do not apply in the United Kingdom, where the consumer products continue to be sold and updated. The UK’s National Cyber Security Centre has separately advised government departments and operators of critical national infrastructure to consider the risks of Russian-headquartered security software for sensitive systems; that guidance is aimed at those organisations rather than home users and small businesses.
