Description
Pre-owned digital licence. Supplied as a lawfully transferred licence that has been retired by its previous holder, with order documentation and activation guidance. It does not expire and there is no renewal fee. How pre-owned licences work · Why pre-owned software licences cost less.
Windows 11 Home: the standard edition for personal machines
A Windows 11 Home licence key activates the consumer edition of Windows on one 64-bit PC. It covers browsing, study, gaming, media and everyday office work with the current Windows desktop, Snap layouts and virtual desktops, Microsoft Edge, the Microsoft Store and Windows Security antivirus and firewall — without a separate subscription.
AutoSoftKey supplies Windows 11 Home as a pre-owned digital licence: the product key, order documentation and activation guidance arrive by email after payment, and UK email support is on hand if you get stuck.
What Windows 11 Home includes
- The Windows 11 desktop: centred Start menu, Snap layouts, widgets and virtual desktops.
- Security: Windows Security antivirus, firewall, SmartScreen and Windows Hello sign-in.
- Gaming: DirectX 12 Ultimate, Auto HDR and DirectStorage on supported hardware, plus Xbox app integration.
- Everyday apps: Microsoft Store, Edge, Photos, Clipchamp and Android app support where available.
- Updates: feature and security updates from Microsoft for the life of the edition.
Where Home fits — and where it does not
Home is right for a family PC, a student laptop, a gaming rig or a home-office machine that does not join a company network. It stops short in three places: no BitLocker, no domain or Entra ID join and no incoming Remote Desktop. If any of those matter, Windows 11 Pro is the edition to buy; our Home vs Pro guide lays the differences out.
Windows 11 Home versus Pro
| Feature | Windows 11 Home (this page) | Windows 11 Pro |
|---|---|---|
| Desktop, Store, Windows Security, gaming features | Yes | Yes |
| BitLocker drive encryption | No | Yes |
| Domain / Entra ID join, Group Policy | No | Yes |
| Remote Desktop host, Hyper-V | No | Yes |
| Typical machine | Family, student, gaming | Work laptop, managed PC |
Compatibility and system requirements
Windows 11 requires a supported 64-bit processor, 4 GB of RAM, 64 GB of storage, UEFI with Secure Boot, TPM 2.0 and a DirectX 12 graphics adapter. Plenty of usable Windows 10 PCs fall outside that list, so run Microsoft’s PC Health Check first; Windows 11 Home also requires an internet connection and a Microsoft account during initial setup.
Full details are on Microsoft’s Windows 11 specifications page.

The pre-owned digital licence on this page is priced in GBP above; Microsoft’s own store charges considerably more for the same edition.
Can I upgrade Windows 11 Home to Pro later?
