Description

Pre-owned digital licence. Supplied as a lawfully transferred licence that has been retired by its previous holder, with order documentation and activation guidance. It does not expire and there is no renewal fee. How pre-owned licences work · Why pre-owned software licences cost less.

Read this before you order Windows 10 Pro

Microsoft ended mainstream support for Windows 10 on 14 October 2025. Since then the operating system no longer receives routine security updates, feature updates or technical support on the standard consumer lifecycle, unless a machine is enrolled in Microsoft’s Extended Security Updates programme. That is a security consideration rather than a licensing one: a Windows 10 Pro licence key still activates, but Microsoft is no longer patching the software behind it as standard.

If your hardware can run it, Windows 11 Pro is the supported equivalent and our recommendation for any machine that handles email, banking or business data. Where the hardware cannot, this page supplies Windows 10 Pro as a pre-owned digital licence with documentation and activation guidance.

What Windows 10 Pro includes

  • BitLocker: full-drive encryption for laptops and portable machines.
  • Domain join and Group Policy: management through a company directory with centrally applied settings.
  • Remote Desktop host: the machine can be connected to, not only from.
  • Hyper-V: local virtual machines for testing and isolation.
  • Familiar desktop: the Windows 10 Start menu, taskbar and settings that many legacy applications were certified against.

Why people still buy Windows 10 Pro

There are legitimate reasons. Older hardware without TPM 2.0 cannot take Windows 11. Industrial, laboratory and studio equipment is often certified against Windows 10 and its vendor drivers. Offline or air-gapped machines carry a different risk profile. Where one of those applies, this is the edition with the business features; where none applies, buy Windows 11 Pro instead.

If you go ahead, treat an unsupported operating system accordingly: keep it off untrusted networks where possible, keep separate security software such as Kaspersky Standard up to date, and plan a replacement path. Extended Security Update arrangements exist for some Windows 10 scenarios; eligibility and cost are set by Microsoft and are not part of this listing.

Compatibility and system requirements

Windows 10 Pro 64-bit needs a 1 GHz processor, 2 GB of RAM (4 GB recommended), 20 GB of storage and a DirectX 9 graphics adapter with WDDM driver — far lighter than Windows 11. Installation media is downloaded from Microsoft; an internet connection is needed for activation.

Microsoft’s lifecycle dates are published on the Microsoft Lifecycle site.

Windows 10 Pro licence FAQs

Is Windows 10 Pro still supported?

No. Microsoft’s standard support ended on 14 October 2025. Extended Security Updates are available from Microsoft for eligible devices for a limited period; this listing does not include ESU.

Can I still activate Windows 10 Pro with this key?

Yes. Activation continues to work; only Microsoft’s updates and support have ended.

Can I upgrade from Windows 10 Pro to Windows 11 Pro free of charge?

If the PC meets the Windows 11 requirements, Microsoft offers the upgrade at no cost and the existing licence carries over. Machines that fail the hardware check cannot upgrade.

Is this a retail or OEM key?

It is supplied as a pre-owned perpetual licence for one PC. Ask support before ordering if you need to move it between machines later.

Why buy Windows 10 Pro in 2026?

Legacy hardware, driver-certified equipment or offline machines. For everything else, Windows 11 Pro is the sensible purchase.

The key activated fine and the process was straightforward. Took a little longer to receive the email than I hoped, but overall satisfied.

  2. 5 out of 5

    Kwame (verified owner)

This is exactly what I needed for an older desktop that’s not eligible for Windows 11. The license is genuine and support was responsive when I had a question about installation.

Got the key within minutes of payment. Activation went without a hitch on an old laptop that can’t handle Windows 11. Good value for a legit license.
