Kaspersky Standard: core protection plus performance tools

Kaspersky Standard replaced Kaspersky Anti-Virus as the entry-level tier. It runs the same detection engine as Plus and Premium — real-time malware and ransomware protection, anti-phishing, a firewall and Safe Money for banking and shopping — and adds clean-up and performance tools that remove junk files, monitor disk health and keep applications up to date. What it leaves out is the VPN and password manager that arrive with Plus.

AutoSoftKey supplies Kaspersky Standard as a subscription for 1, 3 or 5 devices over 1 or 2 years, with the activation code and setup guidance sent by email.

What Standard covers

• Real-time protection: malware, ransomware, spyware and exploit protection on Windows, macOS, Android and iOS.
• Safe browsing and payments: anti-phishing, dangerous-site warnings and the Safe Money protected browser.
• Firewall and network monitor: control of incoming and outgoing connections on Windows.
• Performance: disk clean-up, health monitor, application updater and uninterrupted entertainment mode.
• Existing threat removal: cleans infections already present at installation.

Who Standard suits

Households and sole traders who already have a password manager (or do not want one) and no need for a VPN. If you want a VPN and password vault included, Kaspersky Plus is the usual next step; Premium adds identity protection and priority support. Choosing devices and term

Count phones and tablets as well as PCs — that is where households run out of slots — then choose 1, 3 or 5 devices and a 1 or 2 year term. The two-year option suits anyone who knows the set-up will stay the same.

Kaspersky Standard supports current versions of Windows, macOS, Android and iOS; features differ by platform, with the fullest set on Windows. Check Kaspersky’s system requirements for your devices before ordering.

Kaspersky remains available and supported in the UK. The 2024 restrictions on Kaspersky sales apply in the United States; they do not apply in the United Kingdom, where the consumer products continue to be sold and updated. The UK’s National Cyber Security Centre has separately advised government departments and operators of critical national infrastructure to consider the risks of Russian-headquartered security software for sensitive systems; that guidance is aimed at those organisations rather than home users and small businesses.

Delivery and activation
